Our daughter is 21 and was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when she was 15. Because of the Crohn's, she is Vitamin B12 deficient. All the surgeries and the stress of Crohn's can make her, for lack of a better word, cranky at best. One day she was getting ready for work and asked where the big golf umbrella was because she walks 16 blocks to work. I admitted that I accidently left it in my office. She complained and an arguement ensued with her leaving the house without speaking to me. After several attempts at trying to find a solution and several "never mind - I'll figure it out" answers back, I dedcided to just drop it believing that at 21 she really could figure it out and it won't kill her to walk in the rain. Beside, why am I really arguing about an umbrella anyway!? I came back in the house when the local radio station has a triva question of the day: "what vitamin does rain contain?" I held the phone in my hand trying to decide "do I or don't I?" Of course I had to! I called her cell phone and quickly said, "Hey - if it rains today, you'll be fine. Rain contains Vitamin B12" Her response: "yeah whatever". I simply said, "I love you - bye" and hung up laughing and thanking God for humor in real life situations! Never argue with a fool - those watching may not know the difference!
